Well, the question, is laser hair removal painful?
The question is concise, but the answer is long. The reason is, it depends on the body area where you implement this laser hair removal method. In short, I can tell you that it depends on the thickness of skin and density of hair. Thicker the skin and less dense lower the pain.
However, we need to think deeper because it's our body, we can't take any risk with our body. There are many other ways to remove hair from our unwanted area. We should choose the method which is suitable for our health. We cannot take a risk.
At first, we should know, what's laser hair removal?
Laser treatment is a way where it beams highly concentrated light into follicles of hair. As a result, it absorbs the light and demolishes hair.
Now focus on the principal question. Previously I told that pain depends on the thickness of skin and density of hair. The thickness of the skin of our body is not same everywhere. Like, skin on the face is not same as the skin on the leg. However, let me tell it part by part.
On face: The thickness of skin on face varies. The most thinner area on a face is the upper lip. So, the this is the most painful area. Besides this area, other parts are also thinner than any other regions. But the pain is less than the upper lips. It will feel like a rubber band snaps. It is the worst feeling.
Underarms: It's also the most painful area. Someone will feel like a needle pushing into underarms. It's like a trade by pain. However, in this area laser treatment works very well.
Bikini Line: The pain level is lower than above two mentioned area. The most positive thing is, it's better than waxing. On the other hand, it will take longer time than waxing. But we know, there are many other ways to remove hair from bikini line. Whatever you chose, choose the suitable one. Your preferred method should be healthy and natural.

Arms: The pain in this area is as like as face (rubber band snap). But the feelings are less. The reason is, skin in this area is thicker than face.
Legs: The Leg is the most tolerable area. It will pain, but you can tolerate here. It will feel like crack.
Stomach: Laser snaps will tickle you in this area. We know, Skin is thicker here. So, you can accept the pain but need to give more attention. Laser snaps tickle here so don't try to move your body. If you move your body, it will be worst feeling.
Back: Less hair in this area will be less painful. On the other hand, if you have more hair than normal, it will be painful. It will also take longer time for laser treatment. However, you don't need to worry as girls have less problem than men with the backside.
Other Factors:
From the above, we now know the pain area. But it also depends on some other factors. Let me explain those.
Dark Hair:
It worst for dark hair. Dark hair will absorb more laser light than others. More the concentrated laser beam more the pain.
First Session:
The first session is the most painful session. Because first time there will be more hair. After taking the first meeting, hair will be less dense than previous. So, you'll feel less pain in the second session and so on.
Depend on the person:
It depends on the one's ability to tolerate the pain. Not everybody can accept same pain as others can do. We know, some peoples skin is so sensitive that they can't tolerate anything. So, it depends on you.
The above information gives you the details about the pain that feels while taking laser treatment. You may now get the answer to the question is here removal painful? Now we will scale the pain level on a body by 1 to 10 to better understand it. Let, ten is the worst.
Body Area | Pain Area |
